Fairfax, VA — In its continuing effort to increase its mission of consumer advocacy, the Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies has announced that Rick Bugado is the new Director of Industry Relations. Bugado previously served three years as a creditor representative to the credit counseling industry, which led him to the AICCCA and his first opportunity to work in the non-profit credit counseling industry.
"Rick expects to be very active in his new assignment and has exciting new directions planned for our involvement with the entire credit granting community," said Dave Jones, president, Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies. "He has the unique perspective of having been on the creditor side of our industry and we look forward to working with Rick to improve and build on our relationships, which will in turn improve our support to consumers."
Prior to his work as credit counseling liaison, Bugado spent 12 years in the financial services sector, first managing alternative contact strategies for collections. This led to an international assignment with a team helping to make significant improvements in Brazil, England and the United Arab Emirates, culminating in assignments of continually increasing responsibility and influence.
Bugado earned a Master of Arts degree in mathematics from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from California State University, Sacramento.
