FCAA’s Student Loan Training Program is now available as an online self-study course. This program was designed specifically for financial counselors and other professionals working with student loan borrowers.
As the country’s total outstanding student loan debt continues to soar, more and more individuals with student loan debt find themselves not knowing where to turn. While there are various student loan repayment programs, there is a lack of understanding surrounding these programs. As a result, more and more individuals continue to struggle.
FCAA’s comprehensive Student Loan Training Program will give you the tools you need to help those struggling to repay their student loans.
Lesson 1 State of the Student Loan Industry
Lesson 1 explores the state of the student loan industry. Insights are given into how student lending has changed over time and the problems current borrowers face. Also discussed is an introduction to financial aid and the student loan lending process.
Lesson 2 Student Loan Types and Programs
Lesson 2 provides a comprehensive look at student loan types and the various programs created to assist borrowers repay the loans, including repayment plans and consolidation.
Lesson 3 Loan forgiveness and Eligibility Requirements
Lesson 3 discusses when student loan forgiveness, cancellation or discharge are appropriate options to explore.
Lesson 4 Postponement and Default
Lesson 4 details the options available to borrowers for postponing the repayment of their loans. also discussed is student loan delinquency.
Lesson 5 Real World Student Loan Counseling
Lesson 5 discusses the counseling process, from analysis to implementation as well as specific issues counselors can expect to hear about from student loan borrowers.
