A debt management plan (DMP) is a useful tool that helps hundreds of thousands of people get out of debt each year.

Do you want to pay off your credit cards and other unsecured debt?

Are you making monthly payments but just not getting anywhere?

Do you want to avoid personal loans from family or financial institutions?

A debt management plan could be just what you’ve been seeking. A DMP allows you to fully repay your debts while making your payments more affordable.

What is a debt management plan?

DMPs combine multiple debts – like credit cards or unsecured personal loans – into a structured repayment program with a lower, single monthly payment.

Credit counseling agencies, like FCAA members, create personalized debt management plans and manage the plans to help the borrower succeed. Each plan is tailored to your unique financial situation and designed to have your debt paid off within five years. Monthly payments continue to be made to your creditors, so your accounts will not go into collections.

With a DMP, you could benefit from:

  • No more late fees
  • Reduced interest rates
  • No calls from creditors or debt collectors
  • An affordable, responsible way to pay off your debts

While consumers have multiple paths to becoming debt-free, a DMP is one of the most proven and advantageous approaches.
